Senior People Business Partner

We are a people-focused organisation with a growing portfolio of businesses, based in the heart of the global insurance market in the City of London and with offices across the UK.

We're seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior People Business Partner to join our Group People Team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic HR professional who excels at partnering with senior leaders, managing a People Partnering team, and crafting people strategies that propel business performance and growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in partnering with executives, influencing critical business decisions, driving organisational transformation, and delivering people strategies that support growth and performance within a dynamic insurance and financial services environment.

Location: Based between our London/Chelmsford offices with ad hoc travel to our UK offices as required.

A Senior People Business Partner will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing people strategies that align with our business objectives, ensuring we cultivate a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with senior leaders to align and deliver people strategies that support organisational growth.
  • Managing the People Partnering team, fostering consistency, capabilities, and a commercial approach to HR partnering.
  • Coaching and influencing leaders to build high-performing teams and create a culture that drives business success.
  • Leading organisational change, particularly during acquisitions and integration projects.
  • Providing expert guidance on complex employee relations and employment risk management.
  • Leveraging people data and commercial insights to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Supporting talent management, succession planning, engagement, and retention initiatives.

Requirements

Ideal candidates are:

  • Proven experience as a HR/People Business Partner within a commercial environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of shaping decision-making at a senior level.
  • Experience in organisational change and business transformation, with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance people and business priorities effectively.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with excellent judgement.
  • Insurance, broking, or wider financial services experience is highly desirable.
