About the role
At National Grid, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior People Coordinator to join our People Services team, playing a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience through efficient, customer-focused HR administration.
As a Senior People Coordinator, you'll support a range of People Services activities, ensuring processes run smoothly, data is maintained accurately, and colleagues receive timely, high-quality support. You'll work closely with teams across the employee lifecycle, helping to deliver consistent and compliant people processes while continually seeking opportunities to improve the service we provide.

The role is hybrid and can be based from our Bristol or Castle Donington office with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 times a week and the rest from home.
What you'll do
- Manage and maintain employee records within our HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Support key administrative processes, including annual bonus administration, training programmes, and company car schemes.
- Work closely with the People Data team to ensure service levels and processing timelines are achieved.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and internal transfers, ensuring colleagues have a seamless experience throughout their employment journey.
- Assist with recruitment administration, including maintaining systems such as Tribepad.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee queries relating to policies, benefits, and People Services processes.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and help coordinate activities and events that enhance the colleague experience.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, including Payroll, Ethics and Investigations, and other support functions.
- Maintain knowledge resources, guidance documents, and colleague communications to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of People Services support.

What you'll need
We're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has a strong eye for detail, and is passionate about delivering excellent service.
You'll also have:
- Previous experience in a HR Administration, HR Coordination, or People Services role.
- A strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and employment practices.
- Experience working with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to challenge existing ways of working to drive better outcomes.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £40,706.00 - £44,297.50 per annum – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
