About the opportunity

Every business will tell you its people are its biggest asset, and at Go Car, despite providing asset-backed finance, that really does ring true. Our proposition relies on us having the right blend of people and technology and while we have plans for growth, we also have lean teams, so having the right people in the right roles is critical.

Some HR functions are seen as administrative, but at Go Car, People & Culture is appreciated at all levels, including the CEO, who values what we do and is an advocate for our work. We’re also represented at the board, so people are front and centre of strategic decisions.

You’ll be joining our team at a very exciting time – new business is increasing in line with our ambitious growth plans. We currently have just over 100 employees and that's projected to grow this year, alongside making technological strides to boost efficiency and scalability.

We’re looking for a Senior People & Culture Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract. We’ve recently taken recruitment in-house and are implementing new HRIS and payroll systems, with plans to enhance our benefits provision to support financial wellbeing and continue to provide outstanding all round wellbeing support to our teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
