Senior People Manager (12-month fixed-term role) – The Guardian
About the Role
Join The Guardian, a leading global media organisation, dedicated to fearless journalism, investigative reporting, and holding power to account. We’re looking for a Senior People Manager to join our People team for a 12-month fixed-term contract following maternity leave.
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert advice to managers on a range of issues, including investigations, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
- Offer first-line support for casework within the People Team, collaborating with the Senior People Partner and wider HRBP team.
- Deliver guidance on employee relations, policy, process, and employment law.
- Work with managers to effectively and consistently manage capability and performance.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy media environment, have experience in unionised environments, and understand the sensitivities surrounding public-facing information. Strong stakeholder management and attention to detail are essential.
About You
You bring with you:
- Experience working in or appreciation of a busy media organisation, ideally with a unionised workforce.
- A strong grasp of employment law and the challenges of handling emergent issues in a public-facing context.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, particularly in navigating complex or challenging situations.
- A high level of literacy and meticulous focus on detail.
