Senior Perception Engineer - London | Hybrid | £110,000–£140,000 + Bonus + Equity
Autonomous systems don't fail because of control algorithms.
They fail because they don't understand the world around them.
We're working with an ambitious deep-tech company building next-generation autonomous technology where perception sits at the heart of everything they do. This isn't another AI startup building chatbots. It's real-world autonomy solving complex problems using advanced sensor fusion, computer vision and machine learning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll be developing perception systems that allow autonomous platforms to understand, classify and navigate challenging environments using cameras, LiDAR, radar and inertial sensors. Expect to work across object detection, localisation, SLAM and multi-sensor fusion, taking ideas from research into deployed products.
This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems rather than assembling existing frameworks.
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Computer Vision or Perception for autonomous systems
- Sensor Fusion, SLAM or localisation
- C++ and Python
- ROS/ROS2, CUDA or similar robotics tooling
- Deploying ML models onto real hardware
