Senior Pharmacy Support Worker (Ref: 247428)
Substantive
Full Time 36 hours per week
Band 3 - Salary range £29,103 to £31,409 per annum
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacy Support Worker (SPSW). The post holder will work alongside pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to ensure that medicines are provided safely and efficiently within the hospital, vaccination centre, and other NHS sites.
The SPSW fulfils a vital role within the dispensary, including:
- Receiving and distributing medicines
- Stock management
- Dispensing medicines
- Supporting the vaccine service
- Homecare
- Procurement
- Providing a top-up service to wards and departments within the hospital
Other general duties include date checking, cleaning, and administrative tasks such as filing.
Qualifications and Experience
This post requires the post holder to have a SVQ in Pharmacy Services (SCQF Level 6). Applicants may be considered for a training post if they have three Standard Grades, or equivalent, including English, Mathematics, and at least one other subject. Previous hospital experience is desirable.
