Our Pharmacy

Our Pharmacy is a friendly, progressive department. We pride ourselves on our high standards of pharmaceutical input and investment in innovative technologies and professional development to ensure the best possible patient care. Both dispensaries within the Trust are fully automated.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and progressive Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Homecare Team based at Bassetlaw Hospital. The team manages the Homecare Service across the whole of the Trust.

The successful candidate must be a qualified Pharmacy Technician (BTEC National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences/NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Skills, or equivalent) and registered with the GPhC. Original certificates would be required to be presented at interview.

Candidates with equivalent qualifications from overseas must also hold a Statement of Comparability. This must also be provided at interview.

Hours

Hours for the post are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break per day.

The candidate will be expected to participate in the rota for the extended hours opening of the department. Currently this is 2 hours on a Saturday morning as well as a full 7.5 hour day on bank holidays.

Interview

Interviews will take place on the 13.08.2026

Responsibilities

You will be involved in:

  • Participating in the development and maintenance of a high quality Pharmacy Homecare Service to the Trust and its external customers;
  • Receiving and raising orders using the Wellsky Homecare module to forward to Homecare providers along with prescriptions; prioritising as appropriate;
  • Training to an advance level to be able to assist with the Homecare patient database, Homecare provider on-line portals and the Wellsky Homecare module;
  • Working to minimise delays in delivery of medication to patients by ensuring that orders are placed promptly and prescriptions are made available to the Homecare Providers at the appropriate time;
  • Using initiative to deal with problematic and/or urgent pharmaceutical orders, analysing options and making judgements where appropriate so that patient safety is not compromised;
  • Accurate reviewing of simple and complex invoices for Homecare medicines referring to individual contracts for pricing; identifying and resolving any discrepancies and chase up any outstanding invoice queries with the relevant Homecare providers;
  • Acting as a point of contact and dealing with verbal and written complaints, safety issues, and assisting with the investigation of DATIX incidents;
  • Authorising further supplies of medications according to agreed protocols;
  • Deputising for the Pharmacy Homecare Services Manager in their absence;
  • Participating in the bank holiday and extended hours rota as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
