An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our ward-based team at Rampton Hospital.
Working closely with our clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, the successful candidate will help provide a quality medicines management service to wards across the Trust, supporting medicines optimisation.
Main Duties Will Include
- Medicines reconciliation
- Assessing the suitability of patients’ own drugs for use
- Ordering named patient medication
- Counselling patients about their medicines
- Co-ordinating supply of discharge medicines
- Supporting audit and quality improvement initiatives
The post holder will be required to help support the training and staff development of a range of staff, including pre-registration pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technicians, and trainee pharmacists. There will be regular dispensary slots, which will include final accuracy checking.
