Senior Pharmacy Technician - Patient Services

Pharmacy Technician (Senior/Management Secondment) – Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan

About the Role

This fixed-term/secondment position (until August 2027) covers maternity leave and requires prior permission from your current line manager to apply.

We are seeking a committed, ambitious, and compassionate Pharmacy Technician to join the clinical team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The successful applicant will exhibit strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a passion for continuous professional development.

As part of the senior pharmacy management team, the role will involve:

  • Line management responsibilities
  • Supply workflow coordination
  • Supporting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) achievement
  • Developing and mentoring pharmacy staff

Key Responsibilities

The post requires leadership in shaping the supply pharmacy service, including:

  • Policy involvement and multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Development and support of the dispensary pharmacy workforce
  • Coordination of pharmacy technicians and assistants to ensure a safe, effective, patient-centred service

Detailed Job Requirements

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in pharmacy services
  • Experience in managing pharmacy teams

Desirable

  • Broad experience across varied pharmacy services

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills or equivalent

Desirable

  • WCPPE Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Qualification
  • WCPPE National Accredited Medicines Management
  • ILM/Management qualification
