Role Description
The Senior Philanthropy Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Glasgow Area, responsible for securing and growing high-value philanthropic income to support CHAS’s services. This role manages and develops relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, creating tailored proposals, cases for support, and stewardship plans. The Senior Philanthropy Executive will research and identify new funding opportunities, maintain accurate donor records, and produce clear reports and impact updates.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Meeting with supporters
- Coordinating donor events and briefings
- Collaborating with clinical and service teams to gather stories and data
- Working closely with colleagues in fundraising, communications, and finance to deliver integrated campaigns

The role also contributes to income forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, ensuring that philanthropy activities align with CHAS’s mission and long-term objectives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in major donor fundraising, philanthropy, or high-value relationship management within the charity, public, or private sector.
- Strong skills in proposal writing, storytelling, and producing compelling cases for support, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Proven ability to build, manage, and deepen relationships with donors, senior stakeholders, and partners, including face-to-face meetings and presentations.
- Experience in prospect research, income planning, and using CRM or fundraising databases to manage donor pipelines and track activity.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams.
- High level of numeracy, with experience preparing budgets, financial reports, and impact summaries for funders.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practice, charity regulation, and ethical standards in philanthropy (e.g., data protection, donor care).
- Empathy and resilience when engaging with families and stories involving serious illness and end-of-life care, with a commitment to CHAS’s values.
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in fundraising, charity management, business, communications, or a related field.
