Senior Trader – Fertilizer & Chemicals (Physical Trading Platform)
Location: London, United Kingdom
Compensation: £100–120K Base + Uncapped Commission + Equity Options
Contract Type: Permanent
Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a high-growth, technology-enabled fertilizer and chemicals trading platform to appoint a Senior Trader as part of its continued international expansion.
Backed by strong capital support and powered by a proprietary digital trading infrastructure, the business is scaling rapidly and reshaping how physical fertilizer and chemical markets transact globally. With sustained year-on-year growth and ambitious expansion plans through 2026, this hire will play a key commercial role within the platform.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced Fertilizer or Chemicals Trader seeking P&L ownership, entrepreneurial influence and meaningful equity participation within a modern trading house.
The Role – Physical Fertilizer & Chemical Trading
As a Senior Trader, you will:
- Build and manage senior relationships with global suppliers, producers and end-buyers across fertilizer and chemical markets
- Originate, structure and negotiate physical trading transactions across core fertilizer product lines
- Drive revenue growth through active business development and expansion into new geographies
- Leverage market intelligence, macroeconomic data and pricing trends to inform commercial strategy
- Partner closely with product and technology teams to enhance the firm’s proprietary trading platform
- Support efficient execution by collaborating with finance, operations and trade support functions
- Promote platform adoption across your network through direct engagement and industry presence
- Contribute to the expansion of the firm’s trading footprint across adjacent fertilizer and chemical segments

Experience & Profile
We would welcome discussions with candidates who have:
- 5+ years’ experience in physical fertilizer or chemicals trading, with demonstrable P&L responsibility
- Established network of global suppliers and customers across core fertilizer markets
- Strong understanding of product dynamics, pricing mechanisms and regional market structures
- Proven ability to generate revenue through relationship-led trading
- Commercially driven and entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience operating within a high-growth or platform-style trading environment advantageous
- Exposure to South American fertilizer markets beneficial but not essential
- Fluent English (Spanish or additional languages advantageous)
