Senior Physical Health and Infection Prevention & Control Nurse
Band 7 | Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Trustwide | East Sussex or West Sussex
£49,387 – £56,515 per annum

Help improve physical healthcare and infection prevention across one of the UK's largest mental health trusts, supporting frontline teams to deliver safe, high-quality care for patients with complex mental and physical health needs.

Who can apply
We're looking for:
- Registered Nurses (Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disability) with:
- Specialist knowledge and experience in Physical Health and/or Infection Prevention & Control
- At least two years' experience at Band 6 within a Physical Health or IPC role
- Experience supervising staff and supporting clinical teams
- Strong leadership, communication and audit skills
- A passion for improving patient safety and quality of care

The role
As a Senior Physical Health and Infection Prevention & Control Nurse, you'll provide expert advice, leadership and support across Trust services, helping frontline teams deliver excellent physical healthcare while maintaining high standards of infection prevention.
You'll:
- Lead and support a team of Physical Health Nurses
- Provide specialist advice on physical healthcare and IPC practice
- Deliver education, training and clinical support to frontline teams
- Lead audits, quality improvement initiatives and action plans
- Support the management of infection outbreaks and incidents
- Promote best practice in patient safety and physical health care
- Work collaboratively with matrons, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams
- Help shape Trust-wide physical health and infection prevention strategy
About the service
The Physical Health and Infection Prevention & Control Team provides specialist support across Sussex Partnership's mental health, CAMHS and learning disability services.
Working closely with frontline teams, the service helps ensure patients' physical health needs are identified and managed effectively while promoting safe clinical environments through education, assurance, audit and expert advice.

Location
This is a Trustwide role with opportunities available covering:
- East Sussex or West Sussex
- Travel across Trust sites as required
