Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Occupational Health team is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Occupational Health Physicians, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, Wellbeing Advisors, Occupational Health Technicians, alongside administrative support. The team plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees by delivering clinical assessments, medical advice, and therapeutic interventions. This enables employers to meet their health and safety obligations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Seasoned Physiotherapist with a passion for occupational health to support our Corporate Plan and Workforce Well-being Strategy 2024/30.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide fitness-for-work assessments and professional guidance to maximise employee health and productivity.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing attendance and fostering a proactive health promotion approach.
  • Offer supervisory support to junior team members, ensuring the service’s objectives are met.
  • Lead and facilitate professional governance monitoring and development within the team.

The position will primarily be based at the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Unit in Pontypridd, with hybrid working opportunities discussed on a case-by-case basis with the Occupational Health Manager.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an up-to-date qualification and registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Hold current Red Card or equivalent to sit by Clinical Standards.
  • Demonstrate experience or willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Be IT literate, particularly with occupational health-related software.
  • Show capability for continual professional development (CPD) and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, as all employees of the Council are key duty holders in this area.

Key Considerations

This role requires:

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the application process.

Study opportunities will be given where appropriate following an introduction and probation period, including guidance for promoting equal and inclusive practice.
