We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Pitch Assistant to join our Marketing team on a 7 month fixed term contract, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office.
Core Pitch team - Belfast
The Core Pitch Team (CPT) sits within the Global Business Development, Marketing & Communications function. Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm's business objectives, which includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients' trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central teams and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.
What you will do
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Pitch Assistant to support our CPT and contribute to the delivery of high‑quality pitch materials. In this role, you will help coordinate and prepare client-focused proposals and credential statements, ensuring they are accurate, well‑presented, and completed within agreed deadlines. You will play an important supporting role in the pitch process, working closely with colleagues to maintain high standards and enable the team to secure new business opportunities. As a Senior Pitch Assistant, you will work closely with the CPT providing day-to-day support for all pitch related activities. This will include:
- Support the production of proposals, pitch presentations and credential statements, ensuring they meet A&O Shearman quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to help produce clear, accurate and well‑presented content.
- Support the development of key messages and client‑focused value propositions by contributing background research and assisting with content refinement.
- Proofread, format and refine pitch materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and high‑quality presentation.
- Build a working knowledge of key practice areas to support pitch content effectively.
- Become proficient in the firm's pitch technology platforms and support their use across the team.
- Maintain and update pitch tools, guides and content libraries in collaboration with the CPT and Marketing Solutions Team (MST).
- Provide wider administrative and drafting support to the team as required.

What you will have
- Experience of working in a similar role in a professional services environment (law firm or other professional services provider is preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- High attention to detail as well as excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team, multi task (especially urgent requests) and work well under pressure (while adhering to deadlines)
- Well organised, flexible and proactive nature
- Strong time management skills
- Sense of responsibility, accuracy and confidentiality
- A hunger to learn and take on all tasks that will aid in the learning including keeping up to date with legal and commercial developments relevant to the product areas and sectors
- Strong client focus
- Sophisticated communication skills and interpersonal skills
