We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Planner to join our team on the Wessex Water YTL Infrastructure Framework, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of schemes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their planning expertise and take on increasing levels of responsibility within a collaborative and high‑performing environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Produce, manage, and update construction programmes, clearly communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage change events in the programme and collaborate with the commercial team to secure contractual entitlement.
- Monitor the critical path, analyse pinch points, and adjust logic to improve performance or mitigate delays.
- Prepare reports, programme commentary, and filtered outputs highlighting progress and deviations from the baseline.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to produce earned value data in line with customer and MSI requirements.
- Issue formal programme updates and present progress at internal and external meetings.
- Develop fully logic‑linked tender programmes across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Oversee planning processes, ensuring timely and complete inputs from supply chain partners.
- Develop and manage integrated design, procurement, construction, and commissioning programmes.
- Follow programme management processes, producing robust master and managing programmes aligned to scope.
- Contribute to risk management, identifying and communicating programme risks.
- Support method statement development and ensure tender programmes align with pricing methodologies.
- Lead or produce logistics and phasing plans.
- Work with supply chain and bid teams to develop optimal programme and methodology solutions.
- Attend tender meetings and support bid submission preparation.
- Ensure clear communication of bid strategy and programme solutions to the wider project team.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Strong understanding and practical experience with project management software.
- Experience in programme and project management, including programme controls, project reviews, cost analysis, and risk analysis.
- Ability to plan construction works from first principles, ideally with multidisciplinary major project experience.
- Significant site experience in a management or supervisory capacity on relevant projects.
- Strong understanding of how commercial events impact the baseline programme.
- Experience working on multi‑discipline projects within relevant Morgan Sindall sectors.
- Proven bid and project planning experience within construction environments.
- Experience identifying and recording changes in requirements and their impact.
- Ability to measure and monitor performance, presenting outputs clearly to support continuous improvement.
- Skilled in interpreting data and presenting programme information in a clear and logical format.

About the Water|Highways Business Unit
Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services.
We work with major water companies to create resilient facilities, reduce flood risks, and improve environmental outcomes. Currently, we participate in the Welsh Water AMP7 and AMP8 frameworks and have secured projects with Wessex Water for the next five years. These long-term framework agreements are part of a national £88 billion investment, requiring a collaborative and agile approach to meet the industry's challenges.
Our Highways team delivers comprehensive services, from major national projects to local schemes, improving road journeys for millions daily.
With expertise in tunnelling, bridges, and more, we provide end-to-end project support, including design, integration, and construction. Current projects include concrete road replacements for National Highways, smart motorway safety enhancements, and widening the A423 for Oxford City Council.
