Senior Planner Roles

Derby (2-3 days per week onsite)

Contract or Permanent

Candidates must:

  • Be Sole British and born in the UK
  • Hold SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
  • Be willing to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Derby.

Inside IR35.

Ideally candidates will have 5+ years' experience.

Key Requirements

  • Experienced with Primavera P6 to intermediate level (essential).
  • Experience working under NEC contracts.
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. APM) would be beneficial.
  • Experience within the Nuclear or Defence industry is highly desirable.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for planning, including production and management of project schedules, both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate work packages to schedule, track progress against schedule, undertake resource planning and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Review and approve subcontractor programmes.
  • Interface with stakeholders to identify and report on progress, change, risks and opportunities.
  • Provide input to proposals relating to hour estimates and planning.
  • Produce concise and accurate project metric reports, including critical path analysis, for the Defence Infrastructure Lead Team.

Essential Skills and Behaviours

  • Primavera P6 to intermediate level (essential).
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without direction or supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise and accurate summaries of project progress, critical path risks and project metrics.
  • Ability to confidently engage with subcontractors and critically review the accuracy of subcontractor submissions.
  • Experience as a Project Planner on NEC4 contracts is essential, particularly Option A and Option C.
  • Major infrastructure design and build project experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience within the Nuclear or Defence industry is highly desirable.
