Senior Planner – Infrastructure
At Cumming Group, we're delivering some of the UK's most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes. As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our expanding Infrastructure team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in major projects from early-stage development through to delivery, working alongside industry-leading clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, managing, and analysing project programmes across a diverse range of infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with project teams and clients to provide planning expertise, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing detailed project programmes
- Analysing critical paths, milestones, progress, and programme performance
- Supporting project controls, risk management, change control, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Reviewing contractor programmes and providing programme assurance
- Supporting tender evaluations and contractor selection processes
- Assessing programme impacts, compensation events, claims, and contractual entitlements
- Facilitating planning workshops and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams
- Producing high-quality reports and presenting programme updates to key stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required

What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with planners who can combine strong technical planning expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.
You'll ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience in project planning within construction or infrastructure
- Strong experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or ASTA Powerproject
- Experience working across major infrastructure or complex construction projects
- Knowledge of NEC, JCT, and/or FIDIC contracts
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- A relevant degree qualification
- MAPM, MRICS, or equivalent professional membership (or working towards)
