Location – Glasgow - Helensburgh

We are looking for a number of Senior Planners to support on the Clyde commercial framework, the roles are based in our central Glasgow location, with travel to Helensburgh.

The Role

As Senior Planner, you will take ownership of planning and programme management activities from tender through delivery. You will play a critical role in developing robust, fully integrated programmes and ensuring effective control, communication and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Stage

  • Develop fully logic-linked tender programmes aligned to methodology, design (where applicable) and tender sums
  • Produce all agreed tender planning deliverables in line with bid requirements
  • Engage with bid teams and supply chain partners to optimise programme and methodology solutions
  • Support risk identification and ensure key programme risks are captured in the risk register
  • Attend tender meetings and contribute to bid submissions

Construction / Delivery Stage

  • Produce, maintain and update the construction programme and communicate progress to internal teams, clients and key stakeholders
  • Manage programme change events, working collaboratively with the commercial team to secure full contractual entitlement
  • Support project teams in monitoring critical path activities, identifying pinch-points and mitigating potential delays
  • Prepare programme reports, commentary and filtered outputs, including deviation from baseline
  • Produce earned value analysis data in line with client and Morgan Sindall requirements
  • Formally issue programme updates in accordance with contract requirements
  • Attend and present at progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Programme & Process Management

  • Develop and manage integrated design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes
  • Ensure planning processes and programme management plans are followed consistently
  • Monitor supply chain package completeness and interface dependencies
  • Input into risk management and support the production of method statements
  • Develop or lead logistics and phasing plans (including management of outsourced planning support)
  • Ensure alignment between programme, pricing methodology and construction strategy

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant construction or engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience in project planning and programme management within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong proficiency with project management and planning software
  • Proven ability to plan complex, multi-discipline projects from first principles
  • Significant site experience in a management or supervisory role
  • Demonstrable experience managing programme impacts arising from commercial events and change
  • Experience working on bid and live construction projects
  • Strong understanding of programme controls, performance measurement, cost and risk analysis
