Senior Planner – Oxford / Oxfordshire

Job Description
A leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is delivering a major infrastructure scheme in Oxfordshire.
Due to this major project award, they are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to take ownership of programme management using Primavera P6, from ECI / Stage Two design development through to construction delivery.
You will work closely with the client, design teams, project delivery teams, and supply chain to ensure effective programme management and milestone-driven delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, baseline, and maintain fully integrated Primavera P6 programmes across design, procurement, earthworks, structures, highways, utilities, and construction.
- Manage critical path analysis, progress measurement, forecasting, and recovery strategies.
- Review and integrate subcontractor and supply chain programmes into the master programme.
- Lead what-if scenario planning, delay analysis, and risk forecasting.
- Produce progress reports, programme updates, and critical path analysis for senior management and the client.
- Support NEC3/NEC4 change, compensation events, and EOT assessments with robust programme and delay analysis.
- Work with design and construction teams to develop realistic build sequences and logistics plans.

Essential Criteria
- 5–7+ years' planning experience with Tier 1 or major Tier 2 civil engineering contractors.
- Experience delivering major highways, bypasses, bridges, earthworks, or local authority infrastructure projects. £50m+ scheme experience preferred.
- Strong Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project experience.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Practical knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and programme management.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desirable
- Chartered or working towards CIOB, ICE, or APM membership.
- ECI or multi-stage infrastructure procurement experience.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior planners.
