About the Role

The Planner / Senior Planner in our Scotland regional team (based in Glasgow, hybrid) ensures seamless coordination between Preconstruction and Construction teams through rigorous planning, reporting, and scheduling. This innovative role demands precision, adaptability, and collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Programming: Preparing and tailoring design, procurement, and construction programmes in Asta Powerproject.
  • Risk & Opportunities: Identifying and assess risks, opportunities, and logistical hurdles.
  • Reporting: Generating written reports, method statements, and progress updates for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Scheduling: Aligning major plant resources (e.g., scaffolding, cranes, hoists, temporary electrical) with project timelines.
  • Project Delivery: Engaging in tender evaluations, pre-construction strategies, and on-site execution.
  • Autonomy & Teamwork: Balancing self-directed deadlines while fostering collegial teamwork in dynamic environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop customised programmes for design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Support lean construction methodologies integrated into planning.
  • Collaborate on BIM and 4D scheduling for enhanced project oversight.
  • Produce risk assessments, logs, and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain transparency in progress tracking through accurate priorisation and reporting.
  • Align with BAM’s commitment to sustainability and innovation across projects.

We’re Looking For

To thrive here, bring:

  • Contractions and tender planning expertise in complex environments.
  • Degree-level qualifications or equivalent experience (ideal with a construction/planning background).
  • Expertise in Asta Powerproject, along with proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with BIM and 4D scheduling considered a plus.
  • Lean construction alignment in planning methodologies.
  • Crystal-clear communication (written and verbal).
  • Team-led motivation: a collaborative mindset paired with individual drive.
