What you'll be doing

What You'll Be Doing – Project Based

Ensuring that the Contract Programme is produced, managed and maintained in accordance with the Contract Requirements. Preparing monthly progress updates and communicating the revised Contract Programme including monthly progress reporting. Establishing and agreeing with the Operations Team, key methods of construction, sequencing and programme logic. Developing Stage Programmes and supporting information in accordance with the project requirements and issuing to all parties for review. Implement recommendations, innovation and best practice as applicable. Reconciling direct and subcontract plant & labour along with major materials and supporting Project Controls. Assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance and safety.

What You'll Be Doing – Win Business Based

You will work with the Planning Lead & Bid Manager to provide the planning function for a wide range of civils tenders and throughout the project planning life cycle. Identifying scope, constraints, risk and contract requirements. Establishing and agreeing key methods of construction, temporary works requirements, sequencing and programme logic. Interfacing with third parties and supply chain to develop proposals. Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme. Establishing and agreeing construction outputs and working hours with appropriate Estimator. Review and implement recommendations, innovation and best practice as applicable Communicate the plan to senior management at Tender Settlement Meetings. Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including tender programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reports. In addition, supporting the Project Based planning requirements on live projects.

Who we're looking for

Who We're Looking For

Operational experience (typically section engineer to site agent) together with previous significant experience of planning services in small to medium sized projects within the construction industry. An understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements. Proficiency in the use of planning techniques and the required planning toolsets. Experience of using planning software such as Primavera P6, Elecosoft Asta and / or Microsoft Project. Appropriate training will be given where required. An understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring. An understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning programming. An understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement. A good understanding of various forms of tender & contract documents, preferably with some NEC4 experience. Effective communication, engagement, motivation & leadership skills to drive change and positively impact the business.
