You’ll be part of a thriving business with a portfolio of civil engineering projects across Scotland, delivering from getting to completion.
What You’ll Be Doing
Project-Based Responsibilities

Project Deliverables:
- Maintain and update contract programmes in line with contract requirements
- Prepare and share monthly progress updates, including revised programme revisions and progress reports

Programming & Sequencing:
- Work with the Operations Team to develop and agree methods of construction, sequencing, and programme logic
- Develop stage programmes and required supporting documentation for projects and disseminate for review

Supporting Project Performance:
- Apply recommendations and best practices based on innovation, plant & labour reconciliation, and programme monitoring
- Collaborate with the Project Team to ensure timely delivery, improving productivity, performance, and safety

Key Stakeholder Coordination:
- Reconcile direct subcontract plant & labour allocations and major material deliveries to support project controls and progress visibility
Win Business-Based Support

Tender Planning & Program sophistication:
- Work with the Planning Lead and Bid Manager to develop planning functions for civil engineering tenders across the full project cycle

Key Risk & Scope Identification:
- Assess scope, constraints, risks, and contractual requirements of tenders
- Define and agree methods of construction, temporary works needs, and programme logic
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers, engineers, and workflows to refine tender programme deliverables

Deliverables & Reporting:
- Facilitate planning tasks with senior management during tender settlement meetings
- Develop planning principles, programmes, presentations, and reports
- Support the project pipeline with tender-based planning expertise alongside live project duties

Who We’re Looking For
Key Requirements

Operational Experience: At least post-section engineer to site agent, plus additional experience in managing planning for small-to-medium UK civil engineering projects

Technical Insights: Solid understanding of construction methods, logistics, and project constraints

Planning Proficiency:
- Experience using planning tools (Primavera P6, Elecosoft Asta, Microsoft Project)
- Ability to apply a wide range of programming techniques for progress tracking, risk management, and change entitlement analysis

Contract & Procurement Awareness:
- Strong knowledge of tender & contract documentation (including NEC4)
- Familiarity with delay & entitlement claims
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Leadership Demonstrations: Strong ability to communicate, engage, motivate, and innovate
- Professional Mindset: Commitment to development and continuous learning
Qualifications & Certifications
- Education: Degree, HND, or equivalent project planning & engineering experience
- Card Validation: Relevant CSCS (Construction Skills Card System), H&S (Health & Safety) qualification
- Culture Fit: Team player with relationship-building capability
