Senior Planner

Context
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our UK/IRE project controls team in our Birmingham office. This role will provide technical planning expertise on bids and projects to ensure accurate programmes and project control materials are in place.
This position within our team will suit a committed and ambitious Senior Planner who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in a dynamic high-performance team. With a focus on the design on infrastructure projects, the post-holder will be part of a team delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK/IRE clients.
Missions/Main Duties
- Primavera Systems experience in UK Rail & Infrastructure Industry
- Lead and mentorship of early careers and other members of the team
- Building relationships with limited set of common clients and maintain regular client contact.
- Represent Project Controls, attend and present during client progress meetings.
- Producing compliant programmes that are logically robust, cost and resource loaded and covers the full scope of work across all stages of the project. Primavera competent.
- Provision of project performance data, project schedules and reports in a concise and timely manner
- Ensure all planning processes and procedures are fully implemented on the project
- Identify project risks, deviations and slippages; reports and communicates issues to senior members of the Project Controls and Project Management team.
- Understand the workload, prioritising and allocating work.
- Identification and management of key input and output milestones,
- Identification of key internal interfaces and third-party interfaces.
- Check programme achievements and provide constructive feedback, leadership and management.
- Analyse current and future workloads to ensure Planning commitments can be achieved
- Conduct Risk workshops and undertake Schedule Risk analysis, present results
- Ensure Earned Value Management processes are followed data analysis and trend analysis.
- Provide regular supervision to junior members of the team as required
- Experience and proven track record of successfully fulfilling planning roles on complex multidisciplinary contracts
- Self-motivated with drive and enthusiasm whilst being open, honest and flexible, seeking support when required
- Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required

Operational Accountabilities
- Produce comprehensive and professional programmes and project controls materials for bids and projects in line with the required timescales
- Ensure Baseline programmes are in place and accepted by the client to form the basis to capture change and demonstrate cause and effect
- Analyse performance of planning and project control material and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements/mitigation
- Ensure the project team is aware of and understands the programme, project drivers, key deliverable, critical and sub critical paths
- Implement and maintain the requirements required on Projects and Bids
Financial Accountabilities
- Implement and maintain the requirements outlined on Projects and Bids
- Undertake any other related responsibilities as directed by the Project Controls Director
People Accountabilities
- Represent the function / business with stakeholders (Clients, Suppliers, other internal business functions/Disciplines)
- Coaching & mentorship of juniors within the planning function
Profile/Skills
- Competent User of Primavera P6
- Member of APM (Desirable)
- HNC/Degree in Relevant Industry Subject
- Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the demands of the role
- Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required
