Penguin Recruitment is delighted to support a prestigious, growing planning consultancy based in Nottingham, as they expand their team with roles for Senior / Principal / Associate Town Planners.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the development/delivery of planning strategies to promote sustainable growth
  • Manage planning applications, appeals, and consultations per policies/legislation
  • Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and impact assessments
  • Engage proactively with local authorities, communities, businesses, and key stakeholders
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients and teams
  • Draft Planning Statements, Planning Appraisals, and Statements of Case
  • Stay current with legislative changes, policy updates, and emerging planning trends

About You

  • Proven planning consultancy, local authority, or development sector experience
  • A relevant planning qualification (or in pursuit of one)
  • RTPI membership or chartership aspiration
  • Deep understanding of the UK planning system/processes
  • Strong written communication with impeccable attention to detail
  • Approachable yet professional demeanour, with practice-based listening
  • Robust organisational skills to prioritise competing demands
  • Agile, proactive, and a collaborative team player

Working Arrangements & Additional Information

Our client embraces a flexible hybrid model and recognises productivity isn’t tied to location.

  • East Midlands-based role with on-site preference for 2–3 days/week in Nottingham.
  • Multiple national hub offices open career paths for long-term flexibility/progression.
