Job Description

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is a world-leading design, engineering, and project management organisation. We connect people, data, and technology to transform infrastructure and energy systems across the globe. Our purpose is simple: to engineer a better future for our planet and its people, creating sustainable solutions that shape the world around us. Our teams deliver some of the most complex and transformative programmes worldwide. By combining multidisciplinary expertise, global best practice, and deep sector knowledge, we help clients achieve ambitious outcomes. Our success is powered by talented people whose diverse thinking and creativity drive innovation every day.

Due to the growth of our Project Controls pipeline, we are seeking a Planner to join our Programme Services, Advisory & Controls (P-SAC) Practice as a Planner to work on large programmes of work. The role will require delivering planning, scheduling, and progress management services across a large complex programme, ensuring fully integrated, risk-informed, quality-assured schedules that support decision-making, Earned Value Management, and programme governance.

Your role

You will have the capability to develop, maintain, and govern complex, multi-project schedules within an enterprise environment, to include:

  • Building and managing programmes, projects, and contractor schedules within Primavera P6 EPPM to consistent standards.
  • Structuring schedules in accordance with approved Work Breakdown Structures, coding conventions, and Project Controls Management Plans.
  • Integrating Sub-Project schedules into a coherent Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with cross-project dependencies.
  • Maintaining fully resourced and cost-loaded schedules enabling accurate forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Establishing and maintaining formally approved schedule baselines for Sub-Projects and the Programme.
  • Maintaining a full schedule baseline register with version control and traceability.
  • Ensuring all approvals, justifications, and impact analyses are recorded.
  • Managing Programme, Interface, and Critical Path Milestone Registers.
  • Ensuring all milestones are kept up to date in P6 and the Document Management System.
  • Providing weekly analysis of milestone performance, variance drivers, and recovery actions.
  • Ensuring clear visibility of strategic decision points and external dependencies.
  • Ensuring schedules are resource and cost-loaded.
  • Generating and interpreting EVM metrics including PV, EV, AC, CPI, SPI.
  • Identifying performance trends and variance drivers for monthly reporting.
  • Using dashboard (e.g., Power BI) to provide clear, visual insights for stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
