Senior Planner Roles
Location Derby (2–3 days per week onsite) Contract or Permanent
Eligibility Requirements Candidates must:
- Be solely British and born in the UK.
- Hold SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
- Be willing to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Derby.
Contract: Inside IR35.
Experience: Ideally candidates will have at least 5+ years’ experience in relevant roles.
Job Requirements
Essential
- Experience with Primavera P6 (intermediate level)
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts (preferably Option A and C)
- Completion of a Project Management qualification (e.g. Association for Project Management (APM))
- Experience in the Nuclear or Defence industry considered highly desirable
Highly Desirable
- Major infrastructure design and build project experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Primavera P6 comprehensive training

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for project planning, producing, and managing internal/external schedules.
- Coordinate work packages to align with schedules, track progress, and conduct resource planning.
- Interface with subcontractors to review and approve their programmes.
- Communicate updates to stakeholders regarding progress, changes, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist with proposal development, providing input on time estimates and planning.
- Develop concise, accurate project reports, including critical path analyses, for Defence Infrastructure Lead Team (DILT).
Essential Skills & Behaviours
- Strong intermediate-level Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project)
- Highly self-motivated, capable of independent work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to summarise project status, risks, and metrics clearly
- Confidence engaging with subcontractors and logically assessing their submissions
- Experience as a Project Planner on NEC4 contracts (Options A/C) highly valued
