Senior P6 Planner
Location: Tamworth (Hybrid)
Salary: £70-85K depending on experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior P6 Planner to join our growing project controls team based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects, working closely with project managers, commercial teams, and clients to ensure programmes are robust, achievable, and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience using Primavera P6, a strong understanding of NEC contracts, and experience within either the water or civil infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed Primavera P6 programmes across multiple projects.
- Produce fully logic-linked, resource-loaded project programmes from tender through to delivery.
- Monitor project progress and analyse programme performance.
- Identify critical path activities and advise on mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Prepare programme updates, progress reports, and earned value analysis where required.
- Support project teams with planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with commercial and delivery teams to manage programme risk.
- Produce delay analysis and support compensation event assessments under NEC contracts.
- Attend client meetings and provide planning expertise throughout project delivery.
- Ensure programmes comply with contractual and client requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Planning Engineer.
- Expert user of Primavera P6.
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
- Previous experience within the Water or Infrastructure/Civil Engineering sectors.
- Excellent understanding of critical path analysis and programme management.
- Experience producing baseline programmes, updates, and recovery programmes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.

- APM, MSP, or equivalent project management/planning qualification.
- Experience with Power BI or project reporting tools.
- Experience supporting claims, delay analysis, and programme audits.
