The Role

The Senior Planning and Insight Analyst role sits within the Planning Performance and Insight team within the Group’s Strategic Planning and Insights Office.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in advancing the Group’s strategic planning and insight practices. Serving as a catalyst for informed decision-making, you will engage in the compilation, analysis, and assessment of data related to:

  • Students
  • Staff
  • Finances
  • Spatial utilization

Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, you will extract pertinent insights to guide decision-makers in:

  • Understanding trends
  • Addressing challenges
  • Identifying opportunities
  • Actively contributing to the implementation of the Group’s strategy

We are seeking a data and insights professional to analyse complex datasets and turn them into clear, actionable insights that support strategic planning and decision-making across the Coventry Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret large, complex datasets using a range of data and ETL tools to generate:
    • Timely reports
    • Dashboards
    • Actionable insights tailored to different audiences
  • Develop statistical and predictive models to support:
    • Forecasting
    • Performance analysis
  • Contribute to the design of:
    • Planning models
    • KPIs
    • Dashboards
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to:
    • Understand their insight needs
    • Deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Promote high-quality data standards
  • Improve data literacy and support effective use of data systems
  • Represent the Group at sector events
  • Contribute to project work as required

Our Successful Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or substantial equivalent experience within a similar role
  • Proven experience in:
    • Analysing, interpreting, and reporting complex datasets
    • Turning complex information into clear, impactful insights to support decision-making

Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Confident and analytical data professional
  • Experience with:
    • Data analysis tools
    • Advanced Excel functions
  • Advantageous experience with:
    • Analytical and visualization software packages
    • Tools such as Tableau or similar business intelligence tools
  • Strong ability to communicate complex analysis outputs to:
    • Technical and non-technical audiences
    • Methods may include reports, presentations, and visualizations via appropriate software
