Senior Planning Engineer

Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer or Planner Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) Salary: £70-90,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner, or an ambitious Planner ready to take the next step, to join one of the UK’s leading names in the construction industry. Based out of their established Birmingham office, you will become part of a highly experienced planning team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the region.

This role offers involvement across both tender and contract planning, working on projects typically valued between £20m–£400m across a broad range of build sectors. From early bid strategy through to live project delivery, you will play a key role in developing robust programmes, supporting commercial and operational teams, and helping to drive successful outcomes on complex schemes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed construction programmes for tender and live projects Support bid teams with programme strategy, sequencing and methodology Work closely with project, commercial and operational teams to ensure programme alignment Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies Provide planning and programme expertise across multiple build sectors Support successful project delivery from pre-construction through to completion

Strong UK construction industry experience gained within a main contracting environment Proven planning experience across building projects Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery Proficiency in Asta Powerproject Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ambition to progress within a leading contractor
