Senior Planning Engineer

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £75-85,000 + car allowance + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join one of the UK’s leading main contractors, working on a £100m infrastructure project in Birmingham.

As Senior Planning Engineer, you’ll take the lead on project planning activities, working closely with the delivery and commercial teams to ensure the programme is realistic, achievable, and aligned with NEC contract requirements. From developing detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 to providing progress analysis, risk management, and strategic programme advice, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this exciting infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on project planning activities
  • Work closely with the delivery and commercial teams
  • Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Provide progress analysis, risk management, and strategic programme advice

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Planning Engineer or Planning Engineer on highways, roads, or major infrastructure projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
  • In-depth understanding of NEC contracts
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ideally degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
