Mace Career Opportunity: Programme Planner (Safety Cleared)

The Project

Our client is embarking on a groundbreaking transformation of their science campus—preserving elite research capabilities, developing specialised expertise, and fostering collaboration—while upholding health, safety, and environmental standards. We are delivering their ambitious 10–15-year, multi-billion-pound redevelopment programme near Weybridge, Surrey, incorporating:

  • Sub-programmes for enabling infrastructure (permanent and temporary)
  • New science facilities in a live operational environment, maintaining critical logistics and operations throughout
  • Technical, cost, and programme assurance across a national priority site

Key Details

  • Location: Based primarily at the client’s site in Weybridge (minimum 3 days/week), with 2 days/week in Moorgate, London
  • Security Clearance: Security BPSS & SC clearance mandated
  • ** Proficiency:** Strong expertise in high-containment facility construction

Programme Planner Role

Responsibilities

  • Specialist Planning & Scheduling:
    • Apply advanced scheduling methods, tools, and Primavera P6 proficiency
    • Earned Value Management (EVM) and project controls solutions
  • Stakeholder & Project Leadership:
    • Communicate effectively with clients, teams, and stakeholders regarding complex requirements
    • Analyse impacts and propose corrective actions persuasively
    • Manage a multidisciplinary planning team, driving development and service excellence
  • Client Engagement & Governance:
    • Influence decisions to accept strategic recommendations and proposals
    • Deliver task-specific needs for project requirements
  • Sustainability Focus:
    • Alignment with Net Zero Carbon goals—proactively identify reducing carbon emissions

Key Requirements

  • Education: Degree in construction, engineering, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience & Certifications:
    • Primavera P6 proficiency, multi-sector project/ Programme planning expertise
    • Deep infrastructure/site experience and commercial acumen
    • Membership or equivalent in APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA+
  • Specialised Knowledge:
    • Hands-on regulatory project experience
    • Carbon/sustainability planning familiarity
  • Leadership: Proven track record managing large, senior stakeholder relationships
