Senior Planning Manager (CAT A Defence Infrastructure Programme)

About the Role
Location: Winchester, UK Contract Type: Not specified (part-time, flexible, or hybrid options may be considered)
Mace is seeking talented Senior Planning Managers to support major defence infrastructure projects within a high-profile CAT A programme. This critical role involves acting as the client’s representative, providing expert programme management oversight, schedule assurance, and governance across complex and sensitive projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead expert planning and scheduling within project teams.
- Collaborate with D&B contractors to develop robust and detailed project schedules across multiple projects.
- Ensure NEC4 compliance through scheduling governance, oversight, and assurance.
- Align schedules with DEO processes and procedures.
- Review, challenge, and approve schedule updates, compensation events, and claims.
- Manage portfolio-level schedules via coordination with PMO and portfolio teams.
- Support negotiations, contract development, and due diligence.
- Shape long-term planning strategies within your function or business unit.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relations with client and wider partners.

Requirements
Candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Eligible for UK SC security clearance (must have at least 5 years uninterrupted UK residency).
- Strong construction scheduling experience with Primavera P6.
- Essential NEC4 expertise.
- Professional membership with one of:
- APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, or IEMA (or equivalent professional development)
- Extensive experience in defence projects or complex infrastructure programmes.
- Proven property/construction project management experience.
- Strong track record in interfacing with senior stakeholders.
