Stafford Borough & Cannock Chase District Councils,

Senior Planning Officer (DPP102)

Grade I (SCP 28 – 32) £39,152 – £42,839 per annum (pay award pending)

Permanent, 37 per week. Hybrid working with a minimum 1 day office based per week

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join our established and supportive Economic Development and Planning Service, at Stafford Borough Council. This is an ideal opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking planning policy team. You’ll be at the heart of leading and developing a varied and rewarding New Local Plan workload, helping to deliver high‑quality services to our communities whilst contributing to an ambitious planning agenda.

About You

You will be:

Significant professional experience of planning policy and research, including development viability and monitoring systems Qualified to degree level or above in planning with full RTPI membership Enthusiastic, commitment and ability to work to tight deadlines Demonstrate high levels of complex analytical, project management and presentational techniques supported by advanced IT skills Detailed knowledge and understanding of statutory Regulations and the implications of national policy within a Local Plan context Enjoy both taking individual responsibility, managing other officers and working as part of a busy Service with ambitious growth aspirations for the future
