We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Oxfordshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Planning Solicitor on an initial 3-month locum contract. The position is due to start in August, and the hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £65 via an Umbrella company.
They are looking for someone to attend one planning committee per month. The ideal candidate needs to have a good knowledge of planning so that they can draft section 106 agreements without supervision, deal with Judicial Reviews and attend planning committees.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a varied caseload, providing expert legal advice on complex planning matters
- Drafting, negotiating and completing Section 106 Agreements, ensuring compliance with current planning legislation, CIL requirements and recent legislative changes
- Advising on Judicial Review matters, managing legal processes and deadlines, and attending Planning Committees as required
- Providing wider legal support where required, including licensing, enforcement, contract drafting, prosecutions and the review of reports across a broad range of local government matters

Experience required:
- Experience required in Local Government
- Significant experience with Planning law
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
