Senior Platform Architect

Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Platform Architect to own the platform-level architecture of our scale-up and scale-out systems, guiding us as we transition from single-accelerator products to standards-based server和rack-level deployments.
In this role, you’ll define how our current and next-generation accelerators come together as high-performance platforms, ensuring workloads execute effectively while addressing:
- System topology
- Host integration
- Memory organisation
- Platform-level performance, scalability and operability
This role involves close collaboration with:
- AI Infrastructure Systems division (board- and system-level product development)
- broader architecture teams
- silicon and software divisions
- strategic customers and partners to align on architecture requirements and technical alignment.

Key Responsibilities
- Define platform-level architecture for scale-up and scale-out fabrics across our accelerator product line
- Specify physical interconnect infrastructure: identify architectural requirements and trade-offs for the AI Infrastructure Systems division, including how interconnect characteristics impact system-level workload performance.
- Translate workload and performance requirements into concrete system-level specifications.
- Design host integration for PCIe, CXL, and memory attachment, specifying system-level memory organisation.
- Ensure platform performance, power efficiency, cost and scalability, sustaining target performance as systems grow from single nodes to large clusters.
- Define operability and RAS (reliability, availability, serviceability) standards to guarantee production-ready platforms.
- Lead system architecture discussions with key stakeholders:
- AI Infrastructure Systems;
- silicon design teams;
- product management;
- software teams;
- customers and ecosystem partners.
- Drive methodology and best practices for scalable platform design.
Qualifications
Essential Experience & Expertise
- Five or more years in system/ platform/hardware architecture, with a strong track record in server-level or distributed-system scale-out solutions.
- Deep understanding of:
- Scale-up and scale-out systems (encompassing distributed workload mapping, functional partitioning);
- Fabrics and interconnects, including:
- Ethernet and Universal Asynchronous Link (UALink);
- optical and switch fabric technologies;
- proficiencies in reasoning about their system-level trade-offs.
- Systems thinking: Ability to correlate workload characteristics with hardware architecture, quantify performance impacts of design choices.
- Leadership and collaboration: Stealthy teamwork across multi-disciplinary environments, effective stakeholder and senior-leader interfaces.

Preferred Bonus Qualifications
- Experience architecting AI/HPC accelerator systems.
- Familiarity with distributed training/inference workloads and data-centre-scale deployments.

Relocation support: Possible for selected candidates relocating to Italy (Florence/Milan) or the Netherlands (Eindhoven/Amsterdam).
