Senior Platform Engineer (Hybrid) – Permanent

Join our team in Leeds on a permanent basis, with a two-day office, three-day remote arrangement.

About the Role

This role sits within the central Cloud Platform team, where you’ll design and deliver GCP solutions while championing best practices in security, automation, and observability. It’s a hands-on, high-impact position—you’ll help accelerate developer delivery by treating the platform as a product, reducing manual effort and fostering self-service excellence.

Currently, we’re building a strong talent pipeline for this position, so while this isn’t an immediate hire, we’re looking to connect with senior engineers for future opportunities as the team scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable, automated platform capabilities, including:
    • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules.
    • Standardised GitOps pipelines to boost developer productivity.
  • Optimise GCP estate architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance.
  • Build and enhance observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Operations Suite) to ensure high availability and rapid troubleshooting.
  • Embed “shift-left” security practices by integrating IAM, network controls, and governance into engineering workflows.
  • Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, documentation, and collaboration.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
