Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Engineer who is able to build VDI in AWS using Appstream and Workspaces to come and join the team on an initial 6-month contract basis with a possibility of extension. You'll join our excelling team inside IR35, based in the London area.
This opportunity will have you working with a large enterprise organisation helping to migrate the current Citrix environment to the new VDI (AWS) environment using Automation.

What you'll be doing:
- Build the VDI platform in AWS and migrate citrix apps to it using AppStream.
- Automated build and configuration of an AppStream 2.0 fleet
- Expansion of the automated Workspaces platform build
- AppSense integration
- Peripheral tooling integration
- Contribution to design documentation
- Full operational documentation
- Development and delivery of service transition materials for migrated applications
- Migration of at least 3 applications from Citrix Cloud to the new solution
- Service transition of the migrated applications
No on call or overtime expected at this stage but any overtime that maybe required will be weekday with TOIL.
Working from home primarily with very occasional team meetings in White City.

What you'll bring:
- Automation using Powershell, Cloud Formation- Automation background
- AWS Appstream and Workspaces
- Windows 11 endpoint management in a virtual desktop or VDI context
- Windows Server and Windows 11, AD into Appstream
- Written and verbal communication/documentation skills
