Senior Platform Engineer – Kubernetes | Active SC/DV Clearance
Location: UK (Remote/Hybrid with travel to secure customer sites)
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required | Active DV Clearance highly desirable
We're partnering with an innovative Defence Technology organisation that is expanding into the UK following significant success delivering secure DevSecOps solutions within government and national security environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to become one of the first UK engineering hires, helping build and support a cutting-edge cloud platform used to accelerate the deployment of secure applications into highly classified environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure cloud-native infrastructure.
- Deploy and support Kubernetes-based platforms within secure government environments.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Go, Pulumi, Terraform and YAML.
- Support deployments across air-gapped and classified environments.
- Collaborate with UK Defence customers and international engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to platform improvements, automation and DevSecOps best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerised platforms.
- Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware or Bare Metal.
- Strong cloud networking knowledge.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Pulumi.
- Experience developing in Go (Golang).
- Strong understanding of Keycloak and Identity & Access Management.
- Experience integrating with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Docker, CI/CD and DevSecOps experience.
- Previous experience working within Defence, Government or National Security environments.

Desirable Experience
- Deploying Kubernetes into air-gapped or classified environments.
- Experience with MOD, Defence Digital or other UK Defence organisations.
- Knowledge of UK Government security frameworks and secure cloud environments.
Requirements
- British Citizen.
- Active SC Clearance is essential.
- Active DV Clearance is highly desirable.
- Must be willing to travel to secure customer sites across the UK as required.
