Senior Platform Engineer
📍 Colchester (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office) 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits 📅Permanent Role
We're partnered with a fast-growing software business that is investing heavily in its platform engineering capability and looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help build the foundations that enable product teams to deliver high-quality software at scale.
This is an opportunity to join a business undergoing significant growth and transformation, where you'll play a key role in designing and evolving the internal developer platform, cloud infrastructure, and engineering tooling that supports multiple development teams.
The Role
Working as part of a modern Platform Engineering function, you'll help create a frictionless developer experience through automation, self-service tooling, and cloud-native best practices.

- Building and enhancing Internal Developer Platform (IDP) capabilities
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Managing and optimising Kubernetes environments
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
- Driving GitOps practices and platform standardisation
- Improving platform reliability, security, scalability and cost effectiveness
- Creating "golden paths" that reduce developer cognitive load and accelerate delivery
- Collaborating with Engineering, Security and SRE teams to improve operational excellence
- Championing modern engineering practices including observability, automation and resilience engineering
Experience Required:
- At least 4 years' experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure roles
- Strong Kubernetes knowledge in production environments
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud technologies
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise
- Experience building and supporting scalable distributed systems
- Strong CI/CD and automation experience
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
- Experience working within fast-paced engineering teams or technology organisations
