About The Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer (Senior Associate) at Kainos, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing critical components of modern digital service platforms. Your responsibilities will span automation, build processes, deployment pipelines, and ongoing support, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient services. In this fast-paced environment, you will be empowered to make well-informed decisions, learn new technologies, and collaborate with talented colleagues across engineering, testing, security, and product management teams. Your expertise will contribute to shaping the architecture of digital solutions that are secure, reliable, and capable of supporting continuous growth and innovation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills, mentor junior team members, and influence the technological direction of key projects.

- Proven experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Significant expertise in configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and automation tools
- Fluency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Powershell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or Groovy
- Experience in designing, building, testing, and supporting components within digital service platforms in production environments
Desirable qualifications include:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Modern version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Industry best practices for security, performance, and scalability
- Certifications in cloud technologies and experience with cloud-native SaaS and PaaS solutions
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, testers, security specialists, and product managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure components aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes to support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure to architect solutions that address complex business problems.
- Implement infrastructure as code using configuration management and container orchestration tools, ensuring repeatability and consistency.
- Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture design, and product planning, advocating for minimal viable products (MVP) and efficient solutions.
- Support live services to ensure high availability, security, and performance, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Debug complex issues across multiple servers and services, demonstrating analytical skills to resolve problems effectively.
- Apply industry best practices for security, performance, and cost-efficiency in all aspects of platform engineering.
