Senior Platform Engineer
Location: Liverpool - Hybrid
Salary: Up to £75,000
Maxwell Bond have partnered with a well-established financial services organisation in the North West who are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join their growing cloud engineering function.
This is a hands-on platform engineering role aligned to a future move into a junior architecture position. You'll work closely with senior technical leadership, taking ownership of cloud infrastructure and platform components across a structured engineering environment, while developing your architectural thinking over time.
The business operates within a mature engineering setup with strong governance, frameworks, and delivery processes, offering the right environment for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer looking to step up into an architecture-facing career path.

What you'll do as Senior Platform Engineer:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services across enterprise environments, supporting end-to-end delivery of cloud-based solutions.
- Work hands-on across infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud platform components.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architecture leadership to contribute to platform design and technical decision-making in a structured environment.

What they're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps Engineer within a structured engineering environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering (AWS or Azure preferred).
- Experience working within a medium to large engineering teams with exposure to governed delivery processes and architectural thinking.
