Senior Platform Engineer (Enterprise Experience)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Enterprise Experience) based in United Kingdom.
This is an opportunity to join a high-impact engineering team focused on building secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions for enterprise customers. In this role, you will shape the future of self-hosted development environments by creating the deployment foundations that organizations rely on to operate with confidence. You will work across infrastructure automation, container security, Kubernetes deployments, and enterprise architecture patterns to improve reliability and usability at scale. As a founding member of the team, you will have significant influence over technical direction, engineering standards, and platform evolution. This position is ideal for an experienced platform engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving developer experiences, and building tools that enable modern software development.
Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade deployment artifacts, including hardened container images, Terraform modules, Helm charts, and reference architectures.
- Improve the reliability, security, and scalability of self-hosted platform deployments used by enterprise customers.
- Own and evolve deployment patterns and architectural guidance as platform capabilities and customer requirements change.
- Enhance upgrade processes to make deployments more seamless, predictable, and trustworthy for users.
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions and collaborate closely with engineering teams across the organization.
- Build and maintain infrastructure solutions following high standards for code quality, security, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Develop and improve CI/CD workflows, observability practices, and operational tooling.
- Mentor engineers by sharing technical knowledge, improving engineering practices, and raising the overall quality of team output.
- Partner with teams to ensure enterprise environments are reliable, secure, and easy to operate.

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, with ownership of deployment systems or infrastructure components relied upon by users or internal teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and container technologies.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure solutions used by enterprise customers or large-scale environments.
- Deep technical knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, HTTP protocols, and modern software architecture.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and working with monitoring or observability platforms.
- Strong security mindset with experience balancing reliability, compliance, performance, and maintainability.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions and operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with developer tooling, open-source projects, or enterprise reference architectures is a plus.
- Passion for coding and continuous technical improvement, whether through professional projects or personal initiatives.
