Platform Engineer (HashiCorp Vault Specialist) – GlobalLogic

We’re seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with HashiCorp Vault expertise to join our Platform Engineering Practice, where you’ll technically consult and optimise customers' platform foundations.


About the Role

This hands-on Platform Engineering position focuses on building robust, scalable, and automated infrastructure foundations. Your work will span:

  • Infrastructure provisioning and automation
  • Platform reliability improvements
  • DevOps & CI/CD pipeline optimisation
  • Toolchain development to enhance engineering efficiency

Ideal candidates possess deep platform engineering expertise, excel in highly automated environments, and can adapt priorities as business needs evolve. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to design, implement, and scale solutions while championing resilience, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Infrastructure Management

  • Design, deploy, and manage HashiCorp Vault clusters across multiple environments
  • Ensure 99.9% uptime through proper storage backend (S3, Azure Blob, etc.) configuration
  • Plan and execute seamless version upgrades, including patch management and capacity scaling
  • Optimise infrastructure to scale under increased workloads without latency

Secrets Lifecycle & Governance

  • Implement and secure secrets engines (e.g., KV, transit, AWS secrets)
  • Write and enforce Vault policies for 中 tol les access and segmentation
  • Integrate authentication methods (LDAP, Okta, OIDC, cloud-native IAM roles such as AWS/Federated)
  • Design and apply identity-based access control (IBAC/ABAC) strategies

Developer Enablement & Integration

  • Act as the primary Vault expert for seamless transitions from hardcoded secrets to Vault-managed secrets
  • Lead workshops and mentor teams on Vault API usage, client libraries (Terraform/HCL, CLI) and SDK best practices
  • Guide engineers in configuring Earth/Dynamic Secrets, dynamic Leases and Rotation for cloud credentials
  • Support integration with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD) and automation tools

Security, Auditing & Compliance

  • Monitor and analyse Vault audit logs to detect anomalies
  • Develop and test disaster recovery procedures (Restore from backup, cross-region replication)
  • Automate long-lived credential rotation processes
  • Assess and mitigate compliance risks for platforms that rely on Vault

Ideal Candidate

You are a principled technical leader with hands-on experience in secrets management and platform reliability. Your expertise should include:

  • 3+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
  • Proven experience with Hashicorp Vault (clusters, auth methods, secrets engines)
  • Deep DevOps knowledge (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools)
  • Security-first mindset: Understands zero-trust principles, encryption, and identity strategies
  • Collaborative and adaptive: Comfortable advising non-technical teams while working independently
  • Technical communication skills: Can translate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels
