Senior Platform Engineer - London - £90k - £110k
Principal / Senior Platform Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days a week, long-term tech hub) Salary: £90k - £110k + benefits
The Job
We’re hiring a Principal/Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement, and scale the cloud infrastructure platform for a brand-new international iGaming operator, enabling seamless launch across Europe and beyond.
This is a critical, early-stage opportunity to shape a hyper-automated, cloud-native foundation from the ground up—a rare chance to work closely with the CTO and co-founders, setting the technical roadmap for infrastructure, automation, and global scalability.
The platform has a Pure IaC (Infrastructure as Code) foundation on GCP, delivering production-grade environments with zero manual provisioning. As the business scales to millions of daily transactions and multi-market payロード, this role ensures the architecture remains:
- Scalable – able to support real-time data and high transaction density
- Secure – hardening governance automations and enforcing compliance
- Cost-efficient – optimizing resources at scale, including cross-cloud planning
- Forwards-looking – helping define long-term IoC practices and cloud preferences
You will outgrow “runMyOD” work and embrace technical leadership:
- Advise on multi-cloud architectures (GCP primary, AWS/Azure exposure useful)
- Refactor automation pipelines for resilience and performance
- Champion security-level IaC (e.g., GitOps/SPIFFE)
- Mentor engineers on cloud-native patterns via company-wide knowledge-making sessions
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) environments in production
- Operationalise GCP-native and multi-cloud deployments, enforcing cloud-agnostic practices
- Architect and manage Kubernetes (GKE) clusters, flanked by ArgoCD, CI/CD pipelines, and Pub/Sub
- Define and enforce guardrails for security and operational autonomy
- Optimise cloud spend via spend analysis tools and fine-grained resource policies
- Advocate for DevOps culture by teaching engineers transferable patterns (e.g., IaC.idam, K8s deploy strategies)
- Contribute to weekly learnings where all-hands present tech challenges/solutions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
