Your new company
You'll be joining a globally recognised financial services organisation undertaking a major transformation of its core platform infrastructure. The team is responsible for building and operating a large-scale private cloud platform that underpins critical business services, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, security and platform engineering best practices.
This is a highly technical engineering environment where teams own the full lifecycle of the platforms they build, from design and implementation through to operational support.
Your new role
As a Platform Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, build, automation and operation of an enterprise-scale on-premise Kubernetes platform based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
This is not an application-focused Kubernetes role. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the underlying infrastructure and platform components required to run and support a production Kubernetes estate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
