Senior Platform Engineer – Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes

Contract | Manchester | Hybrid | 2 Days Onsite / 3 Remote | Initial 6 month contract

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience deploying and building Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms to join a major infrastructure transformation programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a new internal hosting platform, helping to consolidate and modernise enterprise infrastructure onto a common, next-generation technology stack. With a small and busy specialist team already delivering the transformation, additional experienced engineers are required to hit the ground running, accelerate delivery and increase team capacity.

The Role

You will be a hands-on technical contributor supporting the build and deployment of a new on-premises private cloud platform, based on bare-metal Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.

You will work closely with architects, engineers and delivery teams, helping to build and deliver a modern, scalable internal hosting platform.

Essential Technical Skills

We are looking for strong hands-on experience across the following:

  • Red Hat OpenShift – proven experience deploying and building OpenShift platforms, not solely administering or operating existing clusters
  • Kubernetes – strong hands-on experience with enterprise Kubernetes environments
  • GitLab CI/CD – experience developing and maintaining pipelines used to automate platform deployment and infrastructure delivery
  • Ansible – strong hands-on experience using Ansible for platform build, configuration and infrastructure automation
  • Platform / Infrastructure Engineering – proven experience building and delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
