About the role:

Sedna is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Platform Engineering team. In this critical role, you will ensure the high availability, performance, and scalability of Sedna's SaaS solutions.

Working at the intersection of development and operations, you will play a key role in automating our infrastructure, improving system reliability, and driving efficiency across our platforms.

  • Collaborate with development and product teams to enhance the scalability and efficiency of the application architecture.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

In your first 90 days, you can expect:

  • You’ll be hands on from day one, working to make Sedna faster, more scalable, more efficient, and more secure.
  • We’ll invest in getting you familiar with our platforms rapidly. You’ll pair with members of the platform engineering team, architects, and developers to gain an in-depth understanding of how everything works.
  • We’ll help you build a full understanding of the environment in which we work, and we’ll get you up to speed with our planning and roadmapping processes, so you can start influencing the direction of Platform Engineering.

What We're Looking For:

Essential

  • Proven experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar roles, operating and evolving production infrastructure at large scale, ideally within complex, distributed, or high-availability environments where uptime, security, and data integrity are business-critical.
  • You've designed or significantly re-architected cloud infrastructure (not just maintained it), diagnosed and resolved production incidents under pressure, and can point to specific systems you've made more resilient, scalable, or cost-efficient.
  • Highly proficient with AWS - we use VPC, IAM, ELB/WAF, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, Kinesis, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SageMaker, Bedrock, OpenSearch, RDS, ElastiCache SES, KMS, and more.
  • Demonstrable experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible).
  • Skilled in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript) and experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices.
  • A tenacious problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system bottlenecks and stability issues.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of working collaboratively across both technical and non-technical teams, being able to explain complex technical issues in clear, understandable terms.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies and continuously improving systems and processes.

  • Experience in working with Azure, including MS Graph, and/or GCP
  • Understanding of information security concerns and demonstrable experience of working cross-functionally across organisations to ensure and improve security
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, or Elixir - the ability to read, debug, and edit existing code is significantly more important than being able to write green-field code.
  • Exposure to advanced k8s ecosystem tooling, including Karpenter and cdk8s.
