About the Team

Portal is the platform that connects Wayve to the outside world; handling data exchange with partners, surfacing AI insights, and enabling the commercial deployment of Wayve's autonomy stack to OEM partners globally. The team operates as a startup within a scale-up: with its own infrastructure, its own DevOps, and a high-autonomy operating model independent from Wayve's core engineering org.

The Role

We're looking for a Platform Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that underpins the entire Portal engineering team.

This is a broad, hands-on platform engineering role, not a narrow specialisation. You'll work across cloud infrastructure, RBAC/IAM, CI/CD, Kubernetes and developer productivity. You'll be the person application developers come to when they need to move faster, more safely and you'll build the systems and guardrails that make that possible.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and developer tooling (primarily Azure) using IaC (Terraform) across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Own and evolve RBAC/IAM across both cloud/infrastructure and application/product layers for a multi-tenant Portal environment.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to increase developer velocity, reliability and deployment safety.
  • Support and improve Kubernetes-based deployment workflows and platform services.
  • Build internal tools and observability capabilities that help engineers deliver performant, reliable software at scale.
  • Participate in a support/on-call rotation; respond to incidents, support engineers, and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Apply practical security and networking knowledge to harden the platform and coach application developers on best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally Azure, with production Terraform/IaC experience.
  • Strong RBAC/IAM knowledge at cloud/infrastructure level; experience with application/product-level IAM or multi-tenancy is highly valuable.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Security and networking fundamentals: you are a hands-on builder, not just a reviewer.
  • Experience as part of a support or on-call rotation.
  • A strong communicator who can coach and guide application developers, not just build in isolation.
  • A product mindset: you think about the developer experience and build tools that genuinely improve how the team works.
  • High autonomy and ownership: you take responsibility for outcomes in a fast-moving team.
