Policing Consultant - Neighbourhood Policing Review £500-£650 per day (Inside IR35) | 3-Month Contract | Hybrid Working | Staff Vetting / Core Vetting desirable We're seeking an experienced policing consultant to undertake an independent review of a neighbourhood policing model for a UK police force. This assignment will assess workforce deployment, officer and PCSO mix, operational demand and resource allocation across local policing teams, providing evidence-based recommendations to improve effectiveness, resilience and visibility within neighbourhood policing. Evaluating officer and PCSO workforce mix, deployment and role clarity. Analysing demand, performance and resource utilisation data. Reviewing the interaction between neighbourhood policing and response functions. Benchmarking current arrangements against comparable forces and recognised good practice. Developing practical, evidence-based recommendations to improve efficiency, resilience and service delivery. Presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders and Chief Officers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
