With 2.5 million volunteers already enrolled and an ambition to reach 5 million participants, we're creating an unparalleled research resource that will transform our understanding of disease prevention, early detection, and healthy ageing.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Population Health Scientist / Senior Epidemiologist to join our Science team and help unlock the full potential of this extraordinary dataset.
This is a critical new role focused on:
- Broadening the audience for Our Future Health data (researchers, charities, public health professionals, planners, and policymakers).
- Producing population health analyses to showcase the capabilities of our dataset.
- Highlighting key aspects such as health inequalities and the impacts of social determinants on health.
- Contributing to implementing a common data model for researchers.
The ideal candidate will lead high-impact analyses that:
- Demonstrate the scientific value of Our Future Health.
- Inform future research and policy decisions.
- Support healthcare and public health improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Director of Population Health Insights and cross-functional teams, you will:
- Lead and deliver sophisticated population health analyses using our unique dataset.
- Generate policy-relevant insights on disease prevention, inequalities, and determinants of health.
- Develop scientific data products that enhance researchers' access to the data.
- Contribute to shaping and refining our common data model for better usability.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product teams, and external partners to ensure rigor.
- Translate complex findings into accessible outputs—reports, briefings, blogs, media, and presentations.
- Act as an external representative, engaging with researchers, charities, NHS organisations, and policymakers.

Requirements
We’re looking for a candidate who combines specialised expertise with a commitment to real-world health impact. Minimum criteria include:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in epidemiology, population health, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience analysing large, complex health datasets.
- Deep knowledge of epidemiological methods and statistical modelling.
- Strong proficiency in R, Python, and/or Stata for statistical and data analysis.
- Experience communicating research results to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- A track record of publishing in scientific literature or presenting at conferences.
- Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for multidisciplinary teamwork.
